A Shoreditch workshop. A barber's conviction. And the belief that a man's grooming ritual deserves the same craft as the finest tailoring.
Lambrow began in 2016 in the back room of a barbershop on Brick Lane. Our founder, a third-generation barber, had spent years watching clients leave the chair looking sharp but reaching for mass-produced products that undid the work within days. The oils were too thin, the balms too waxy, the scents too synthetic.
He started mixing his own formulas between appointments. Argan oil from a supplier in Essaouira. Beeswax from a Kent apiary. Cedarwood distilled in the Scottish Highlands. The first batch of what would become Heritage Beard Oil was bottled in a set of amber glass dropper bottles and handed to regulars for testing.
Word spread. The barbershop next door asked for a case. Then one in Dalston. Then Hackney. Within a year, the back room had become a proper workshop, and Lambrow had a name.
A beard is not an accessory. It is a statement of patience, care, and character. It deserves products built to the same standard.
Heritage Beard Oil mixed by hand in a Brick Lane barbershop back room. Fifty bottles, all given to regulars.
Moved into our own premises on Redchurch Street. Expanded the range to include Gentleman's Beard Balm and Handlebar Moustache Wax.
Launched shaving cream, aftershave balm, and the Sandalwood Beard Comb. Began supplying independent barbershops across London.
Stocked in over 120 barbershops from Edinburgh to Brighton. Introduced the Complete Grooming Kit as a gift set.
Added Matte Styling Pomade and expanded our workshop. Still small-batch, still by hand, still Shoreditch.
Every oil, butter, and wax is cold-pressed, steam-distilled, or sustainably harvested. We never use parabens, silicones, mineral oils, or synthetic fragrances. If it does not belong on your skin, it does not belong in our workshop.
We cap every production run at two hundred units. This lets us test, adjust, and ensure consistency in a way that factory production cannot match. Freshness is not a buzzword here; it is a manufacturing constraint we chose on purpose.
No Lambrow formula reaches a customer before it has been used daily in a working barbershop. Professional barbers are our testers, our critics, and our partners. If it fails under the chair, it does not ship.
We price for what is inside the bottle, not for the lifestyle marketing around it. Premium natural ingredients at a fair margin. No inflated mark-ups, no artificial scarcity, no subscription traps.
Every Lambrow product starts with the raw ingredient. We weigh, heat, and blend by hand in copper vessels, monitoring temperature with the same care a brewer gives to a mash. Beard oils are infused over forty-eight hours to let the essential oil profiles develop fully. Balms are poured at precise temperatures so the wax matrix sets evenly and releases product cleanly from the tin.
We do not chase trends or seasonal limited editions. The Heritage Beard Oil you buy today is the same formula that was handed to regulars in that Brick Lane back room in 2016, refined through dozens of barber feedback cycles but never reinvented for the sake of novelty.
Our packaging is deliberately simple: amber glass, aluminium tins, recycled card. The money goes into what is inside, not what wraps it. Every label is letterpress-printed in Bethnal Green, and every box is assembled by hand in our workshop.
